A Bagley woman charged in the drowning death of her 11-month-old son has been sentenced to prison.

Court documents show that 25-year-old Seaira Marie Briceno pled guilty to child endangerment resulting in serious injury, a class C felony, and involuntary manslaughter, a class D felony. As per her plea agreement, Briceno was sentenced Monday to five years in prison for each count. The sentences are to be served consecutively in addition to a sentence for a Marshall County case for a total of 20 years. Briceno will be credited for all time already served, as well as pay court costs, fines, surcharges, and restitution of $150,000 to the heirs of the deceased victim. This conviction stems from an August 10, 2018 incident when Briceno left her son unattended in a bathtub. She was originally charged with child endangerment resulting in death, a class B felony, and child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
