No damage and no one was hurt in a short-lived fire in a hog building in Greene County.

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams says the Jefferson and Grand Junction Fire departments, the Greene County Sheriff’s office and Greene County Ambulance responded to the call at 1193 305th Street at 11:50am Wednesday. Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio there was some welding that was happening inside the hog confinement, when sparks caught some of the methane gas on fire. But by the time they arrived on scene, the fire had burned out.

Williams adds no one was hurt and there was no damage. According to the Greene County Assessor’s real estate webpage, the property is owned by PSR Farms.
