There’s potential for more severe weather on the way the next couple of days in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

The National Weather Service has Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties under a marginal risk for severe weather starting this evening through the overnight tonight. Then for Memorial Day, all three counties are upgraded for a slight risk for severe weather, mainly in the afternoon and evening. The main threats with Monday’s potential for severe weather include high winds, large hail and possible isolated tornadoes.

The National Weather Service is predicting another 1-1.5-inches of rainfall through Tuesday for all three counties, which may cause flash flooding to occur. According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Rivergages website, the North Raccoon River near Perry is slightly above flood stage. Greene and Dallas counties remain under a river flood warning through Thursday.
