Both the ADM Baseball and, #1 ranked, Softball teams will be making the short trip from Adel today to, friendly rival, and neighboring, Dallas Center-Grimes for a showdown on the diamond tonight.

Jason Book’s ADM Baseball team has caught fire, in the past week, and will look to continue their winning ways against the DC-G Mustangs tonight.  DC-G comes into tonight’s game with the Tigers with a plus .500 record.  DC-G played a doubleheader last night versus Oskaloosa.  Two of the victories for DC-G came against Raccoon River Conference teams, Ballard of Huxley and Winterset.

For the Softball team, Jodi Doty and her squad have faced a daunting schedule this week, even for the #1 ranked team in Class 4A Softball.  Just last night, ADM hosted #2 ranked, Carlisle in Adel.  ADM ended up winning that game 7-5 in 11 innings.  ADM trailed 5-0 in the 5th inning.  A controversial call at the plate gave the Wildcats a 5-0 lead.  ADM closed the gap by one run in the 6th, but heading into 7th the outlook looked grim for ADM.

The Tigers made a 7th inning rally, and tied it up, taking advantage of a couple of Carlisle miscues.  ADM won the game in the bottom of the 11th on a 2-run walk-off home run by Abbie Hlas.

DC-G’s Softball club is very talented, and has picked up a number of wins this season over Class 5A schools, including Des Moines Hoover, Cedar Rapids Jefferson, and West Des Moines Dowling Catholic.  The Mustangs are sitting a winning record, for far this year.

Both the Softball and Baseball games will get underway tonight at 7:30pm in Dallas Center.
