Buena Vista University (Storm Lake) recently announced its Athletics Hall of Fame Class for 2019 and Greene County is connected to two of the four future inductees. Scranton High School graduate Shelly Barr TerHark and current Jefferson resident Scott Weber are among those selected to be enshrined. The other two are Nick Dentlinger and Courtney (Anderson) Berg.

TerHark is the daughter of Larry and Gaye Barr of Scranton. She played both volleyball and softball for the Beavers from 1982-86. She earned All-Conference honors twice, including first team as a senior.

Weber, an Audubon High School grad, was a men’s basketball standout, graduating from BVU in 2004. He’s currently in the insurance business in Jefferson and twice was the league’s MVP, totaling All-Conference honors three times.

The ceremony will take place at halftime of the Sept. 21 home football game.
