The renovation process is nearing the end for the Jefferson Forge.
The buildings at 204-206 East State Street were purchased by East State Street Properties. Community leader Chris Deal worked with Pillar Technology, now Accenture, to establish the Forge in Jefferson and are investing $2.1 million into the building. Accenture Executive Linc Kroeger says part of the first floor will include a “Launch Pad,” which is an area dedicated for continuous learning, to help create commercial software developers.
“And not just commercial software developers but people that learn how to learn throughout their life, how do I use the newest technologies to solve the newest problems. So there’s always going to be new technologies. So having an understanding and a mindset of learning how to learn is really the key things that happen. And then you’re learning the new current technologies and not just the technologies, but how to apply them.”
The other part of the first floor will include “The Crucible” which we’ve previously reported will be an area where new thoughts and ideas come together to create new technologies. The second story will be the creation of the commercial software products for clients. There will also be conference rooms with state-of-the-art video and audio capabilities to meet with people from anywhere.
A grand opening ceremony for the Forge in Jefferson is planned for September 7th. See the pictures below for the renovation of the interior of the buildings, as well as conceptuals of the final product.
