A Minburn man faces several charges following an incident last week.

According to court documents, 42-year-old Joseph Donald Mains was charged with a Class C Felony for second degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor for assault with intent to inflict serious injury and a simple misdemeanor for interference with official acts. The charges stem from an incident that happened on June 7th.

Dallas County Deputies responded to a call of a physical altercation at the victim’s home in the 1200 block of 1st Street in Redfield at 7:51pm. Mains was being held down by the husband until deputies arrived on scene to arrest Mains. The victims told investigators that Mains rode to the back of their house on a bicycle and went looking through their garage before entering their home through the back door.

Mains was first confronted by the husband in the kitchen, where the husband claims Mains was speaking nonsense and became combative, using a koozie as a weapon. The husband managed to hold Mains down until authorities arrived to arrest him. Mains was non-compliant with the deputies and a taser was used twice so that law enforcement could handcuff him. Court documents show that none of the victims were hurt in the incident.

Mains was booked and remains in the Dallas County Jail under a $10,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
