Now that summer break is here and more kids are at home, the Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC) is looking for additional food donations.

Assistant Director Shirley Haupert says they have an increased need for cereal, macaroni and cheese, hotdogs and lunch meat and any other “quick” snack and meal ideas for kids. She reminds everyone that they won’t turn away other food donations. The items they won’t accept include anything that is home-cooked or meat that is home processed. If someone wishes to donate meat, it can be purchased at the grocery store or it must be processed at a meat locker.

Donations can be made when the food pantry is open on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30am, or anytime by contacting Haupert at 515-391-1025. The new location of the ARC is at 1006 North Vine Street.
