yale-4th-of-july-schedule

The annual Yale 4th of July Celebration has so much planned for residents and visitors this year that the fun will be starting Wednesday, July 3rd.

The 5th Annual Three on the 3rd 5K Fun Run/Walk will be at 6 p.m. with live music from Iowa musician Chad Elliott in the park, and food and wine vendors from 7-10 p.m. Thursday the 4th will pedal off with a bicycle poker run from 7-9 a.m., then an omelet breakfast from 9-10 a.m. at the community building, and the parade at 11 a.m. The rest of the day will feature a pork loin sandwich lunch, car and tractor show, kids activities, bathtub races, and more.

Yale Community Club President Scott Fredrickson shares a new event happening that evening, “(We’re) calling it Rock in the Ball Park, rock and roll that is, by a band that’s called Dizclaimer coming out of Des Moines. And they’re going to be playing classic rock from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, starting at I think about 6 o’clock or 7 o’clock and playing up until the fireworks start. So we’re wanting to draw a bunch of people in there to the park there to bring your lawn chair and refreshments and sit back and relax and enjoy the entertainment, prior to the fireworks. So we’re thinking that’s going to be a big draw this year.”
