The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District convened Monday evening in regular session.

The meeting started with approval of the consent agenda, which included hiring Abigail Costigan as the new food service director for the District, updating the nutrition director job description, and several updates to student and staff handbooks. The first action item on the agenda was an addendum to the contract with FRK Architects + Engineers, adding new responsibilities in light of the recent passage of the bond referendum for the new elementary school project. Tom Wollan with FRK also gave the Board an update on the expected construction timeline for the facility.

Next, the Board accepted a bid of $12,894 from Louie’s Floor Covering of Des Moines for the middle school carpet replacement project, as well as a bid of $12,106.95 from Dykstra Concrete of Adel for the concrete replacement project on Tiger Drive. Following that, the Board approved a market factor pay resolution to carry over $2,970.43 for hard-to-hire positions into the next year. Finally, they approved a resolution naming depositories, which included several new banks to cover the $15.75 million general obligation bonds for the new elementary.
