The 2019 Greene County Fair, themed “A Universe of Possibilities,” continues at the fairgrounds in Jefferson.

The festivities start to pick up tomorrow. Some of the morning highlights include the 4-H/FFA Swine Show that will take place in the showring at 8am, followed by the Kids Rabbit Show at 8:30 at the east side of the bus barn. The afternoon activities include the 4-H/FFA Horse and Pony Show at 1pm in the showring, followed by the Beef Fitting Competition at 2:30. The day wraps up with the grandstand entertainment of the All-Star Monster Truck Show at 7pm, which also includes a meet and greet with the performers at 6. Fair Board member Jonathan Marshall talks about the new act for the grandstand.

“There will be three monster trucks and we are to provide ten junk cars that they are going to crush. The whole thing was guaranteed as a turnkey setup. We pay them the money, they come in, they set up their course, and they take it all down when they’re done.”

The cost to attend the 90-minute show is $10. There will also be ground attractions starting tomorrow with the returning act of chainsaw artist Jeff Klatt.

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Lil’ Big Red Radio will also be at the fairgrounds broadcasting live from 10am-6pm through Sunday. You can also check out our Greene County Fair webpage for results from the fair, as well as pictures. To see a full list of the fair activities, click the link below.
