The Perry Police Department is investigating a case involving a possible enticement of a minor that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

According to the department, a juvenile female made a report to officers about a male who attempted to talk her into his truck. The incident took place near the intersection of West 7th Street and Willis Avenue at around 2 p.m. Wednesday. The female was approached by a white, single-cab truck with a shattered windshield, driven by a white male who appeared to be in his 30’s. The man acted as if he knew her and repeatedly asked if she wanted a ride. The juvenile also advised that the man claimed he was associated with the Perry Police.

She did not get in the truck and the male eventually drove away, and the female reported the incident at 5:30 p.m. The driver was described as having red hair, a short beard, and wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. He was thin but muscular, and was said to be smoking a cigarette with a black line on it. The Perry Police Department is currently investigating the incident, and ask anyone who many have information on the suspect to call them at 515-465-4636.
