Dallas County Relay for Life will be utilizing the Raccoon River Valley Trail tomorrow for a special fundraising event.

The annual “Bike for Life” poker ride relay will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., with registration starting at 9. The ride will start and end at Forest Park Museum in Perry, where participants will receive their first and last cards for their poker hand. Other cards will be acquired at the depot in Minburn and the trailhead in Dallas Center, equalling five cards and a 24-mile round trip. Once everyone is finished, participants will compare poker hands, and prizes will be awarded for the top two.

The cost to enter “Bike for Life” is $30 per person, which will include a t-shirt, route map, and water stops. Also included is lunch at Forest Park, which will be served starting at noon. All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society for research and treatment. Pre-registration is suggested, but day-of registrants will be accepted.
