A Boone man has been arrested on Jefferson Police warrants, following an alleged incident Wednesday night.

According to the Jefferson Police Department, 48-year-old Ronald Becker of Boone had bonded out of the Greene County Jail earlier in the evening after being arrested for an aggravated misdemeanor of driving while barred. An officer then saw Becker walking back to Wild Rose Casino, where his vehicle was parked from the earlier arrest. The officer notified casino personnel of Becker’s return and asked for them to monitor surveillance if Becker returned to his vehicle.

Just before 11:30pm, casino personnel notified the officer that Becker was leaving the casino and headed to the parking lot. The officer located the vehicle north of the casino on Highway 4. The officer attempted a traffic stop, but Becker refused and a chase ensued. The chase turned west onto 210th Street from Highway 4, where speeds reached 95-miles-per-hour on paved roads and 80-mph on gravel. At the T-intersection of 210th Street and M Avenue, Becker couldn’t negotiate the turn and the vehicle ended up in the west ditch. Becker then fled on foot into soybean and corn fields.

Several Jefferson Police Officers, along with deputies and K-9 units from the Greene and Boone County Sheriff’s offices and a deputy from the Carroll County Sheriff’s office, searched for the suspect. However, authorities couldn’t locate Becker and the search was called off at 4am Thursday.

Thursday morning, a Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy made contact with Becker at a residence in Carroll County. Authorities tell Raccoon Valley Radio Becker was then arrested by the deputy and transported to the Greene County Jail. Becker is charged with aggravated misdemeanors for driving while barred and eluding.
