The ADM baseball team had a tremendous postseason run that fell just short after falling to Xavier baseball 7-2 Tuesday morning at Principal Park in Des Moines. The Tigers finished with a 13-18 record after a great postseason run. The offense averaged an impressive 5.8 runs during the four game stretch, which included a 15 run outburst against Glenwood.
The pitching was the star of the show during the Tigers run to the state tournament. Senior Logan Crannell and Junior Zach Fuller had tremendous individual pitching performances, both pitching one run complete game gems during the tournament. Crannell had a quality start as well yesterday pitching five innings giving up two earned runs on four hits while striking out eight. Crannell had a 2.08 ERA during this postseason run, while Fuller had a 1.08 ERA during the stretch, pitching 8 1/3 innings and giving up just one run. Both pitchers were major reasons for the teams successful stretch run through district and sectional play.
The Tigers team ERA for the year was solid, finishing at 3.90. ADM will look to build on this successful state run going into next season.
