With the fall sports calendar kicking off Monday, the Wildcat football program is looking for their first winning season in many years. The key will be building a solid foundation for the program and aiming to get higher participation numbers for the coming year.

West Central Valley had 41 players on last years 1-8 team, up from 36 players in 2017, and 40 in 2016. They had 41 as well in 2015. Numbers have been fairly consistent for the Wildcats program in recent years, and teams have improved, even if it isn’t showing up in the win/loss column yet.

Another will be the development of the lower levels in the surrounding areas, so that when it’s their turn for a shot at making the varsity roster, they will be more prepared. Coaches believe if they can get larger numbers out for the fall campaign, the more potential success the Wildcats will have as well.
