A Slater man was arrested Tuesday for violating his probation on a Guthrie County conviction.

According to court documents, an arrest warrant was issued for 43-year-old Michael Lee Hanks after committing several probation violations including leaving Story County without permission, driving without a valid license, allegedly purchasing and using methamphetamine, and being kicked out of a substance abuse class due to several absences. A former Rippey resident, Hanks was convicted of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, a class D felony; and operating while under the influence second offense, an aggravated misdemeanor for a May 2018 incident.
