Thursday, August 15th

12:07am: A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a traffic stop on North Wilson Street and Central Street.

1:20am: Samantha Henderson 26 of Grand Junction was booked into the jail for driving while revoked.

7:56am: The Sheriff and a deputy assisted the City of Paton with removing vehicles per a court order in the 200 block of Paton Street.

12:20pm: A deputy removed debris from the roadway on 220th Street near Eaton Avenue.

1:00pm: The Sheriff, deputies, Carroll County, Iowa State Patrol, Churdan rescue, Jefferson Fire, Scranton Fire, Lanesboro Fire and a Carroll County Ambulance responded to a semi vs car accident on B Avenue and 140th Street. Jeffrey Bauer 59 of Manning was traveling south in a 2000 Kenworth Semi and trailer and failed to yield the right of way. Michael Baugh 33 of Panora was traveling east in a 2014 Chevrolet Impala and was struck by the semi. The semi had an estimated 18,000 dollars damage and the car was totaled. After the impact the semi jackknifed in the roadway and the car entered the ditch and caught on fire. The driver of the semi pulled the driver of the car from the vehicle. Michael was taken by the Carroll County Ambulance and later life flighted due to life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was taken by the Churdan ambulance with minor injuries. Michael was cited for driving while suspended, no insurance, and a registration violation. Jeffrey was cited for failure to yield right of way. The Iowa Dot investigated the semi for defects.

2:30pm: A deputy investigated an animal neglect complaint in the 800 block of Percival Street, Grand Junction.

7:28pm: A deputy investigated a criminal mischief complaint in the 400 block of South 9th Street, Grand Junction.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
