The public comment period is open for an air quality review for a Guthrie County biofuel plant.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources Air Quality Bureau is reviewing a Title V Operating permit application submitted by POET Biorefining in Coon Rapids to operate their existing Organic Chemicals, NEC facility. These permits are reviewed and re-issued every five years. Facilities with a Title V permit have the potential to emit large amounts of air pollutants compared to other facilities. The public is encouraged to comment on the draft permit, and the comment period ends September 29th. For a link to provide feedback, visit here.
