This past week, the Dallas Center-Grimes Girls’ Cross Country team competed in its first meet of the 2019 season at the Iowa State University X/C Course in Ames, and the Fillies showed up and impressed the field.

DC-G Head Girls’ X/C Coach, Justin Droppert, had many reasons to be excited and optimistic about this season’s potential.

The Fillies were preseason ranked #2 in Class 3A as a team in Cross Country, and they certainly lived up to their hype.  Megan Sterbenz was preseason ranked #7 in Class 3A statewide, and she finished in second place on the night.

In addition to Sterbenz, DC-G also had five other medalists in the season opening meet.
