Whether it’s interacting with children, baking treats, or helping plan special events, those who would like to see the Stuart Public Library grow are invited to join the People Active for Library Service group.
The PALS are entering their fourth year as a support organization for the library and are having an open-ended membership drive to raise funds for their efforts and increase volunteerism and advocacy for the library. PALS member Carol Brewer says there is no one-size-fits-all to being a member, “You can be a quiet contributor by just giving a single monetary donation or maybe you would like to be an active member by volunteering for the special activities which could include baking goods for events, attending monthly meetings, helping with activities that the library promotes or even activities that our organization presents throughout the year.”
Examples of the PALS’ projects include speaker and author events, the annual used book sale, and assisting the Stuart Library Foundation’s annual fundraiser. Those interested in joining the PALS can pick up a membership form at the library, or find more information here.
