The special measure for the Greene County School District was unofficially approved by voters Tuesday.

The district proposed a revenue purpose statement to outline how it will use the state’s one-cent sales tax of the Secure an Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) funds was passed. According to the Greene County Auditor’s office, the unofficial results had 242 votes in favor of the measure and 70 were against. There was a 5.71-percent voter turnout. 

The district wanted to use future proceeds from SAVE to do additional work to renovate the current high school into a middle school. This would be when the new high school is completed. The results are unofficial until the Greene County Board of Supervisors canvass the votes. They are expected to do the canvass at their regular meeting on Monday.
