Coming in to Friday night’s match up with Glenwood, Scott Heitland knew that his team’s defense was good enough to slow down a potent Glenwood offense. The question, would the Mustangs be able to put enough points on the board?
Short answer. Yes. DC-G left victorious, 28-9.
Dallas Center-Grimes, now 3-1, was a little beat up after the win against Ballard a week ago. Starting QB, Junior, Ty Walker was unable to go on Friday at Glenwood, so Sophomore, Huston Halverson stepped under Center and impressed.
Halverson went 9/20 passing on the evening, with 3 touchdown passes in his starting debut, and 185 yards in the air.
Luke Busby, Caden Grimes, and Clayton Rossmanith were the three receivers that crossed the goal line with a pass from Halverson.
Junior, Luke Busby, also crossed the goal line once more with the Mustangs lone rushing touchdown of the night.
Defensively, Junior, Garrett Morris lead DC-G with 7.5 total tackles. The Mustangs also had six total sacks on the night, as well, two of which from Senior, Jayme Augusma.
In Week 5, next Friday, Dallas Center-Grimes returns to their home turf to face Perry at 7:00pm. The Bluejays will come to Grimes at 0-4 on the season, and falling on the road last night at North Polk, 39-6.
