The National Weather Service has issued an advisory that there is a high potential for severe weather throughout the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area and much of central Iowa this evening.

According to their severe weather outlook, the NWS has Dallas, Greene, Guthrie, and Adair counties listed in the “Enhanced” risk level for storms, with the expected timing of the threat to be around 6-7 p.m. “Enhanced” is the third-highest category for severe weather potential, and carries with it the risk of large hail, damaging winds, and even tornadoes. If there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning issued for any of the counties in our listening area, listen to Severe Weather Action Team coverage on the Raccoon Valley Radio network to keep you informed about the storm’s progress.
