There is an increased risk of severe weather anticipated for today for parts of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.

According to the National Weather Service, the southern ¾ of Dallas County and the southern half of Guthrie County are under a slight risk for severe weather. The rest of Dallas and Guthrie counties and all of Greene County is in a marginal risk. The main threats with severe weather include up to golf ball size hail, strong winds, flash flooding and the possibility of isolated tornadoes.

A flash flood watch remains in effect for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties through tomorrow morning. With some areas receiving as much as four inches of additional rainfall through tomorrow, that could also cause river flooding, mainly along the Raccoon River. The one to count on for severe weather coverage is the Raccoon Valley Radio Network.
