Greene County’s girls and boys took part in the South Central Calhoun Invitational cross-country meet on Tuesday at the Lake City Golf Course. The boys were fifth among 14 teams and the girls were seventh among 12 squads.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux watched as junior Luis Velazco led the boys by finishing seventeenth in 19:47.52. Logan Woodruff was 21st in 19:51.72, followed by Connor Brus, 33rd in 20:25.32, Ethan Frederick, 36th in 20:27.56, and Dakota Mobley, 37th in 20:27.71. There were 88 boys in the varsity race.

Ogden won the boys’ title with 38 points, followed by Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) at 73, Pocahontas Area 104, Sioux Central (Sioux Rapids) 128, Greene County 144, Manson-Northwest Webster 164, OABCIG (Ida Grove) 184, Alta-Aurelia 215, Woodward Academy 227, Southeast Valley (Gowrie) 236, West Bend-Mallard 242, South Central Calhoun 300, Ridge View (Holstein) 355, East Sac County (Lake View) 371.

Leading the Greene County girls was senior Ashlee Harmeyer, 21st in 24:32.36. She was followed by Conner Allender, 23rd in 24:39.10, Kassie Lamoureux, 37th in 25:44.76, Makala Kafer, 46th in 26:45.28, and Tieryn Tucker, 50th, in 27:00.70. There were 82 girls competing.

M-NW was first as a team with 67 points. PAC had 85, followed by SCC 100, Ridge View 100, A-A 124, Sioux Central 141, Sioux Central 143, Greene County 169, Ogden 175, SEV 218, WB-M 250, Kuemper Catholic 260, and OABCIG 263.

The Rams run tomorrow in Des Moines at Saydel High School.
