Rescue crews save the life of a woman Thursday night in Greene County.

Sheriff Jack Williams tells Racoon Valley Radio the Sheriff’s office, Churdan Rescue, Paton Fire Department, Greene County Ambulance and Gowrie Police Department responded to a white truck that had gone into a creek on 130th Street, west of P Avenue at 5:17pm. Williams says the driver of the truck lost control as it went into the ditch. The vehicle then went over the ditch and into the creek.

Williams points out Deputy Shane Allen and Nate Byerly of Churdan Rescue were first on the scene and jumped into the creek. The two men swam out to the driver and pulled her out of the freezing cold water to land. The driver was then taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Ambulance for minor injuries, including hypothermia. The truck was considered to be a total loss. The name of the driver and the extent of her injuries are unknown at this time.

Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
