Three Guthrie County Sheriff’s Deputies and one Stuart Police Officer that were injured in a shots-fired incident Thursday night have all been discharged from hospital care and are recovering at home.

Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright said Saturday that deputies Kent Gries, Steven Henry, and Jim Mink have all returned home and are doing well. MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center Spokesperson Gregg Lagan confirms that Henry and Mink both suffered gunshot wounds, and were discharged Saturday and are in good condition. Lagan says the first deputy arrived at the hospital at 11:33 p.m. Thursday via MercyOne Air Med. The second deputy later arrived at 12:10 a.m. Friday via ground ambulance. Stuart Police Officer Tyler DeFrancisco was transported by law enforcement to MercyOne Des Moines to seek treatment for a non-gunshot wound injury and was discharged before 7 a.m. that day. Gries sustained a gunpowder burn, and was treated at another hospital.

The third person who suffered a gunshot wound was 52-year-old Randall Comly of Stuart, the person for which law enforcement had attempted to execute an arrest warrant Thursday. He is in law enforcement custody at a Des Moines hospital, which one in particular is unknown at this time. No criminal charges have been filed related to this shooting, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident, which they state may take several weeks to complete.
