The Bock Family Foundation awarded 28 grants to nonprofit groups in northern Dallas County Wednesday afternoon, giving out $58,303 in their fall grant cycle.

Scott Finneseth, Executive Director of the Bock Foundation, as well as Board member John Powell, presented the checks to individuals representing the different organizations. Among the larger grants presented included: a total of $3,000 to the Perry Parks and Recreation Department for new chairs and pool equipment at the McCreary Center; a total of $3,600 to the Perry School District for speakers at the high school track, tools for SkillsUSA, and seating in the Perry Elementary library; $4,000 to New Opportunities for supplying the Head Start classroom; a total of $4,500 to First United Methodist Church for rain gutters and downspouts and insurance code updates; $5,000 to Raccoon River Pet Rescue for their building fund; $6,240 to the Perry Area Child Development Center for scholarships; and a total of $7,113 to the Dallas County Conservation Board for phase two of the connector trail project and an event sound system.

The largest grant presented was $7,500 to Perry’s Academic, Cultural, and Enrichment Services (PACES) program for their learning center program. Since its founding in 2002, the Bock Family Foundation has now awarded almost $2 million to local nonprofits. The grants are awarded twice a year, in the spring and fall, and the next deadline for grant proposals is March 1st. See below for a full list of grant recipients from the spring cycle.

Art on the Prairie: $1,500 for public art mural in Josh Davis Plaza

Washington Twp Cons School Foundation: $2,000 for waterproofing dining room
