Perry junior Kacy Nevitt dominated the net Wednesday night providing 16 kills and 5 blocks as the Jayettes put a serious scare into Ballard losing in four sets in a Class 4A regional opener in Huxley.  Mary Anne Riesburg served an impressive 16-17 including a key stretch in the third set to pull Perry to within a game.  The Jayettes started the fourth set down 0-8 and couldn’t quite recover from the slow start.   Jayna Kenney led the Jayettes with 21 assists while Magley Orellana provided 19 digs fro the libero position.  Perry closes out the season 11-24 while Ballard advances to the Regional semifinal against DCG.  Perry Head Coach John Fulton told KDLS News he was proud of the way his girls played.

“Our key is all about communication.  When we communicate on the court, you see what can happen.  The kids really played hard and I think this will be a good way to head into the off season and try to get better for next year.  We will have our entire front row back but will have to find some players to step up in the back.”
