Two people were airlifted after a two-vehicle wreck blocked traffic on Highway 169 and Interstate 80 Sunday afternoon.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, at about 3 p.m. a 2019 Toyota Forerunner was exiting I-80 westbound and upon reaching Highway 169 was struck by a 2012 Chevy Silverado traveling southbound on the highway. The driver of the Toyota was airlifted to a hospital and is reported to be in critical condition. No other passengers were in that vehicle. There were three occupants in the Silverado, one was airlifted, and the other two were transported by ground ambulance to local hospitals. They are all reported to be in serious condition. Names of those involved have not yet been released. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
