The high school football playoffs in Iowa start on Friday, Nov. 1 and Greene County is one of 16 teams to qualify in Class 2A. The Rams lost in Ida Grove to 9-0 OABCIG on Friday by a 35-13 final to finish 8-1 in a game heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Three turnovers and 10 accepted penalties were too much to overcome as Greene County finished as the District 9 runner-up  which means they’ll be on the road to begin the playoffs.

It’s a short trip to Des Moines Christian High School at Urbandale for the Rams. The Lions won District 8 and are also 8-1. Greene County is number 8 in RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) and DMC is number 9. The winner meets either 9-0 Algona, third in RPI or Central Lyon/George-Little Rock (5-4) number 16 in RPI in the quarterfinals on Nov. 8 on the home field of the higher RPI team.
