The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

The meeting began with approval of the annual employee health screening and blood draw, to be held at the Human Services Campus on November 14th. Next, the Board approved a change order for the courthouse renovation project, reducing the overall cost by $7,500 based on liquidated damages. They also approved the final pay application from Trinity Construction for the project, in the amount of $12,819.70. The Supervisors then approved the 21st pay application for the law enforcement center project, which included payments to eight contractors for a total of $486,949.07. They were also updated on the project, which is expected to be completed by mid-February of 2020.

Following that, the Board approved an agreement with Cott Systems for onsite scanning services for the Recorder’s Office, with an estimated cost of $32,175. They then approved items related to the Operations Department, including: operating transfers in the amount of $1.9 million for the roads and conservation departments; a proposal from Harney Commercial Services for remodeling the Auditor’s building, in the amount of $27,046; and a janitorial services contract with Imagine the Possibilities, which has taken over for Genesis Development. The Supervisors also gave consensus for an appraisal agreement with the Olson Group for $4,500 to look at six vacated secondary roads buildings potentially up for sale.

Other items approved included the abatement of real estate taxes for three parcels owned by the City of West Des Moines, and the appointment of Ruth Bartels to the Aging Resources Advisory Council.
