On Friday night, the Dallas Center-Grimes Football team played in their second round playoff game on the road.  The Mustangs traveled to western Iowa to face perennial power, Lewis Central, of Council Bluffs.

DC-G came into the game with a 9-1 record, as did the Lewis Central, with the winner advancing to the UNIDome in Cedar Falls.

Unfortunately, DC-G came up just a bit short of the dream, as the Mustangs were unable to put up any points on the board and dropped the contest, 12-0.

The game was strictly predicated on defense, as the only scoring in the game was a pair of field goals in the first quarter by the Titans, and a late touchdown by Lewis Central with under two minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

DC-G had its best offensive drive of the game in the fourth quarter when the Mustangs took over on their own 1 yard line, and marched all the way down to the 15 of Lewis Central, however DC-G was stopped short of the goal line and turned the ball over on downs.

DC-G ends its season at 9-2, following a 1-8 campaign in 2018.
