There are a couple of youth programs coming up with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.

Meet the Rams Girls Basketball Team will take place this Thursday at the Greene County Community Center. The free event will be from 6-7pm and participants will get the opportunity to learn basketball skills from the 2019-2020 Greene County High School varsity girls basketball team. The players will also be available to sign autographs and take pictures. While activities and games are geared toward kids in kindergarten through 8th grade, all youth are invited to participate.

The K-5th Grade Wrestling Program will be on Saturdays from December 7th-21st and January 4th-25th. The kindergarten through 2nd graders will be from 9:30-10:30am and 3rd-5th grades from 10:30-11:30am at the Jefferson Fieldhouse. The instructor will be Sean Sebourn and the cost to participate is $35. JPRD Assistant Director Nathan Kral encourages kids to get involved in wrestling at a young age.

“Wrestling I feel is very important. It requires a lot of athletic ability. It’s just another activity for kids to get out and be active, and hopefully they like wrestling at this age so they can continue to grow into their middle school and high school careers.”

The registration deadline is December 2nd. To find registration copies for either program, click the links below.
