The West Central Valley Wrestling team had a very successful first year on the mat under the direction of their head wrestling coach Ben Strandberg. Strandberg helped guide three Wildcats wrestlers to state last year in Justin Garcia, Cole Sackett, and Carson Wadle. Sackett and Wadle both are gone due to graduation, but the senior Garcia is expected to return and build off of his first trip to state last year.

Coach Strandberg came to West Central Valley from Sibley-Ocheyedan Community Schools in the summer of 2018, and has immediately helped to continue to build the Wildcats wrestling program.

Numbers are expected to be high this year for the Wildcats in wrestling participation, so it should be exciting what wrestlers step up and help the Wildcats program get better in the coming months.
