Greene County fire departments responded to three fires Friday afternoon.

The first was a tractor fire that happened at 12:02pm on 170th Street near W Avenue. The Grand Junction and Paton Fire departments, along with a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy, responded to the call where the tractor was a total loss. However, no one was injured.

The second incident was a car fire on 290th Street and C Avenue that happened at 3:33pm. The Scranton Fire Department and a deputy responded, where the 1997 Buick Regal was a total loss, and a trailer that was loaded onto the car was severely damaged. Again, no one was injured.

Finally, the Jefferson Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 4:06pm at 930 and 200th Street. The small out building was determined to be a total loss. The property is owned by Erica Teed. Fire Chief Jack Williams said the cause was believed to be from a garbage burn pile that was thought to be extinguished. However, the fire started back up and caught the nearby small building on fire. No one was hurt in the incident and a deputy assisted at the scene.
