The 2019 Greene County High School football season officially wrapped up on Friday night with a potluck meal and awards presentations. Head Coach Caden Duncan presented letter winners and other awards. The Rams were 9-2 on the season, top 10 ranked in Class 2A, and second place in District 9.

The coach talked about each individual in grades nine through 12 out for football, including the managers. He had special praise for the senior class. Coach Duncan noted 2019 was his first season as a head coach and would always remember the seniors as his first group of seniors, as well as for their football talent, leadership, and personalities. “I’ll always remember this group. They’re a very special group that I know is going to go on and do great things in their lives.”

The only two teams to hang losses on the Rams this season were 2A State Champion OABCIG (Ida Grove) and 2A semifinalist Algona. OABCIG beat Algona in the semifinals, then topped Waukon in the title game.
