The AC/GC wrestling team is less than one week away from beginning their season.

The Chargers will hit the mats Thursday when they head to a quad to face off against  host Nodaway Valley, East Union, and West Central Valley. Last season three Chargers qualified for the state tournament, two of those wrestlers have since graduated. Blaine Beeler and Easton Benson led the way for the Chargers with a combined record of 68-26 in their senior campaign. The Chargers do return Gunnar Larson who also qualified for state with his outstanding 33-7 record in his sophomore showing. Entering the 2019-20 season, Larsen is ranked ninth in Class 1A’s 132 pound weight class by iawrestle.com. AC/GC will also lean on 2018 state qualifier Seth Danker. The junior finished last season with a 22-10 record, despite fighting through injuries.
