The West Central Valley boys basketball team will be looking to find an identity during the 2019-20 season after a two win season last year, and one of the keys for coach Dave Brumley and his staff will be understanding the basics of success. One of the keys for the Wildcats will be work on the defensive side of the basketball, after being in the bottom tier of the West Central Activities Conference in amount of points given up per game.

They also will be looking to have everyone buy into their defensive philosophy, which will include play good team defense and playing proper help side defense.

If the Wildcats can pick up the defense, they could be more competitive in a lot of games this upcoming year.
