Junior Zach Goff is one of nine letter winners returning for the Greene County High School boys’ basketball team. He played enough a season ago to letter, which he told Raccoon Valley Radio, surprised him. “I thought I would be a JV guy last year, so I was not expecting it when coach told me at school I’d be playing varsity.”

He talks about how he sees his role this season. “I think I’m going to be a pass first type of guy, crash the boards to get rebounds, and play defense to the best of my ability.” He can shoot the ball as well. “I will shoot open shots, but I’m not going to force anything. I’m going to try and create open shots for my teammates.”

Greene County opens the basketball season at Ogden on Monday, Dec. 2. It’s a girl/boy doubleheader with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow. Coverage on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com begins Monday at 5:45 p.m.
