The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board will convene Monday night in regular session.

The meeting will begin with the annual retiring Board agenda, which includes examining financial books, requests for modified State Supplemental Aid, and accepting the abstract from the recent election. The second part of the meeting will begin with swearing in the recently elected Board members, and selecting the Board President and Vice President for the new year. During the Focus on Learning section, there will be a report on the curriculum revision cycle and a review of student achievement goals for the current school year.

The first several action items deal with the bonding for the new elementary building, including: appointing the paying agent, bond registrar, and transfer agent for the first series of bonds; consideration of the tax exemption and continuing disclosure certificates; and authorizing the issuance of $10 million in general obligation bonds. Following that, the Board will consider a mental health services agreement with LifeWorks, as discussed at a previous meeting. Other items on the agenda include: continuing the school resource officer agreement with the City of Adel; a search agreement with GLS for the activities director position; next year’s preschool tuition; and an agreement with Solution Tree for on-site math professional development.

Finally, the Board will consider the construction documents notice to bidders for the elementary project, and will set a public hearing to approve the plans and specifications for the building. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Board Room at the District Administration Center in Adel.
