The final Perry Sip and Shop event of the year will be happening Friday evening, and the public is invited for one last opportunity for some after-hours shopping and beverage tasting.

The events have been going on since September, sponsored by the Perry Merchants Group with the help of the Chamber of Commerce. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says the December festivities will run from 4-7 p.m. Friday, and it’s free to take part. Pasutti points out, each month has been more successful than the last, largely thanks to the extended hours. “And that’s, I think, been the most popular aspect of it. Obviously refreshments are nice, and specials and discounts, and you know giveaways and raffles; those are all really fun, but I think what’s really driven the foot traffic has been that opportunity for that after-hours activity. So that’s been fun to see such a positive response from the community for those activities.”

Pasutti adds, the Merchants Group will take January and February off from having Sip and Shop events, but they may decide to bring them back in the spring.
