J.D. Scholten at Greene County Extension during kick-off of campaign in October of 2017

A campaign event for a U.S. House Democratic candidate has been rescheduled to next week in Greene County.

J.D. Scholten is running for Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District and will be at the Churdan Public Library Monday, December 16th from 5-6pm. The stop is part of the Sioux City native’s “Don’t Forget About Us” tour. Scholten is holding a town hall in each of the district’s 39 counties in a town with less than 1,000 people. Scholten is running for the Democratic nomination for Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District. He lost last year to Republican incumbent Steve King by three-percentage points. King is running for re-election and will be facing Republican challengers in next June’s primary with Woodbury County Supervisor Jeremy Taylor, Iowa Senator Randy Feenstra and former businessman Bret Richards.

Scholten’s town hall event is free and open to the public.
