Gilbert was a 95-46 boys’ basketball winner on its home floor over Greene County on Tuesday night in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. The Tigers improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 the conference while the Rams fell to 1-3 and 0-2.

Matt Ockey had 24 of his game high 26 points in the first half, which saw Gilbert lead 60-25 at intermission. Tony Terrones scored 19 points with 12 from Easton Johnson and 10 by Jacob Papesh. The Tigers made 10 three-point shots and were 43 of 66 from the field with nine turnovers. Gilbert went two for seven on free throw shots.

Carter Morton had 13 points and Caden Lowmiller 10 for the Rams. Greene County was 15 of 19 on foul shots, but just 15 for 41 from the floor with 24 turnovers. The Rams made three of 11 three-point attempts.

Gilbert scored 28 points in less than six minutes to start the game and was never seriously challenged by the Rams.
