The final December action for the Greene County wrestling team was Saturday at Carroll High for the Tiger-Knight Invitational. Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams entered nine of the 14 weight classes and finished in sixth place among 11 teams. Greene County had no champions, but sophomore Brenner Gallagher (113) and senior Will Hansen(152) each placed second. Senior Braden Gallagher (120), junior Brady Stauffer (138), and sophomore Nate Black (145) all were third. Junior Chance McCollum (126) was fourth, and senior Matt Naberhaus (285) finished in fifth place.

Westwood (Sloan) won the team title with 171.5 points, followed by Manson-Northwest Webster 166.5, Carroll High 162.5, Ames 130.5, Pocahontas Area 123, Greene County 106, Denison-Schleswig 81, Clarinda 69, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) 58.5, Ft. Dodge St. Edmond 46, and Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln 43.

The only Ram ranked in the Class 2A top 10 missed the event due to illness. Freshman McKinley Robbins at 106 lbs. has a 12-1 record and is rated second by The Predicament and third by IA Wrestle.
