The Panora City Council approved the purchase of a new ambulance at their meeting Monday.

The Council received three bids and approved the lowest bid of $233,454 from Feld Fire of Carroll. They also approved moving forward with selling their 1979 ladder truck, 1995 snow plow truck, and 2005 mower in an online auction. The Council also approved Marshall Burgess to continue as their representative to the Guthrie County Regional Airport Authority, and a support request of $1,000 to the Region VII Council of Governments Housing Trust Fund.

Additionally, the Council approved an urban revitalization tax exempt application from Mike and Mary Arganbright for a home they built on 101 East Market Street. Their property taxes will be abated by 100% for three years, 50% for the fourth year, and 25% for the fifth year. They later approved a payout to Public Works Director Tony Monthei for 155 vacation hours that weren’t used in 2019. Finally, the Council approved the 2020 fire department and Emergency Medical Services volunteer rosters.
