The next Ag Coffee event with Greene County Extension is this week.

The topic for Friday’s informal discussion is on farm succession from 9:30-11am at the Greene County Extension office. Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel says farm succession can be a sensitive topic.

“Farm succession is looking at transitioning off the farm. It can be very scary (and) it can be emotional, certainly there can be conflict or lack of planning can cause issues with your family or other loved ones.”   

ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist Tim Christensen will lead the discussion and give tips and strategies to make the transition smoother. The event is free and open to the public, due to Community State Bank in Paton sponsoring the program. No pre-registration is necessary.
