The Perry City Council will convene Tuesday evening for a budget workshop and regular session on a special night.

The meetings were pushed back a day due to Monday being President’s Day. The budget session will include discussion of general fund revenues and expenditures, capital expenditure requests, and directing Finance Officer Susie Moorhead to set the levy rate and prepare a public hearing notice. The regular session will begin with two public hearings, the first on the proposed contract documents for the upcoming asphalt overlay project. The second will be on the proposed property tax levy for the next fiscal year.

Following the hearings, the Council will consider awarding the bid for the project, and approving the maximum tax dollars through the property tax levy. Also in old business, the Council will consider awarding the bid for phase 1B of the renovation of the McCreary Community Building, as well as a resolution approving tax abatement applications. In new business, they will consider accepting the donation of property located at 722 2nd Street, and a storm siren activation policy. The work session will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, with the regular meeting to follow at 6. Both will be held in the Clarion Room at Perry City Hall.
