A Jefferson man faces multiple drug charges following an extensive investigation by the Jefferson Police Department.

Captain Heath Enns tells Raccoon Valley Radio arrest warrants have been requested for 21-year-old Justin Ray Lopez, who is charged with two Class D Felonies for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and failure to affix drug tax stamp, and two aggravated misdemeanors for his third offense for possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment.

The charges stem from an investigation that began last month. Enns says they received information about drug-related items arriving in packages that were being sent from California to the 300 block of North Pinet Street. Enns says they contacted the U.S. Postal Inspectors for assistance, who later notified the department that a similar package was being sent to that address on January 21st.

Officers waited until the package was delivered to the residence and then a search warrant was executed. The package was seized, and the lab test results were positive for marijuana. Enns says Lopez was allegedly going to sell the drug items and there was a newborn in the home at the time of the incident.

Once Lopez is arrested he will be booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
